Hi, me again!

While working my way through the disciplines to see how they can be used, I came across the following on p.23...

Quote:
Note: Some skills that are used to enhance weapon attacks may be
used to augment Unarmed Combat. For this purpose Unarmed Combat
is considered to be weapon class U.

This is clear enough in itself, unfortunately I can't find any mention of which skills are included in the above. I can make a reasonable guess, but it would be good to know what was intended.

Cheers,
Jim

Hey Jim!

Yep, that would be any melee weapon discipline that doesn't specify a weapon type. So, that's Advanced Counterattack, Calculated Strike, Counterattack, Critical Hit, Disarm, Greatstrike, Split Attacks, Stunning Blow, Vital Strike and Whirlwind Attack. And you are never without your weapon!

An argument could be made for Bash, but I don't let it fly.

Hi Jimmy,

So, Unarmed Combat just replaces Weapon Mastery?

Shouldn't you then include Multiple Attacks as well?

Thanks,
Jim

Sorry Jim! I should have included both Weapon Mastery and Multiple Attacks in there as well.

Unarmed Combat increases your base unarmed damage.

Thanks for catching that.

OK, that all makes sense!

One last question though - do you need any levels in Unarmed Combat before acquiring Weapon Mastery (class U)?

Cheers,
Jim

Nope. You could have Multiple Attacks IV and Weapon Mastery V, and still have a base 1d2 damage unarmed.

That's 3 x 1d2 +3 at +5 to-hit. -I think that's called the Way of the Monkey.
