BTW, I like the hardcover most, wolfie. As for those 4e gamers, you're on your own. Smile

Well, I've heard 4e does some things pretty well. I'm just not too interested in those things, personally. But, this is the Hello Thread. If you guys want to discuss it more, start a thread in General Gaming and I'd be happy to.

... and make them fight.

Generally, the hobbits win, so I'll say that:

1) Hobbits.

2) The last good book I read was 'Algebraic Topology'. It dragged a little near the end.

3) My favorite character was Ferranifer Black. She was secretly an immortal body-jumping artifact.

Hello everyone. Many of you I know, and some I don't. I used to be Dave, Fist of Odin, and then I was a forgettable elf (her name should have been 'Archer', because my character concept was 'maximize how bad-ass I can be with a bow, at the exclusion of everything else'. Plus, she hated lycanthropes.

How are you today? I am excited to see who I will be in the Wayfarers blog game.

Chickens, page 425 of Wayfarers, is missing a key rule. If you roll a natural 6, you roll again and keep a cumulative total until you do not roll a 6. Rolled a 13 to hit, 19 damage, etc. Helps the trash talk.

1: Neither...Dwarf through and through!

2: Just re-read The Last English King by Julian Rathbone...if you want historical fiction at it's best this is it. The tale of King Harold and the Battle of Hastings told by a Saxon survivor.

3: Thorvald...Dwarf Fighter. Can't beat good Saxon or Viking names for a dwarf!

Hello all. I heard about Wayfarers on one of the old school forums I hang around and so here I am. Great work you've done here, guys! This is a good time for old school gamers!

Hello from the East.
I was somehow very impressed with Wayfarer at the first sight on DriveTHRUrpg.com and soon purcahsed the PDF.

And yesterday I got Wayfarers Guiild Journal, for free Shocked I'd like to express my many many thanks here. Thanks!

1: Hobbit or Gnome?

I go for Gnome, as Gnomes have much more mysterious atmosphere (at least for me) than chubby Hobbits.

2: What was the last good book you read?

"The White Tower (白い巨塔)" by Toyoko Yamazaki (Japanese masterpiece novel)

3: What was the name of your favorite NPC or PC?

Feoc the Hermit (my last D&D3.5 character)

Welcome Wulfgar and Thiha!

Thorvald and Feoc. Two great names that go great together. -These are all being added to my list of NPC names you know. I think the next WGJ should have a big list of names. That's one of the things I find most difficult about GMing: "Yes, you meet the shopkeeper Otis, and his assistant... um... Yotis."

Be thankful I didn't write Twylos.

Welcome guys.

Hi all, this is a little off-topic for the welcome thread, but on-topic for previous postings.

Wolfie, so I was abroad, and needed a book to read on the long flight back. Happened to see "Beyond the Shadows", said what the hell, and picked up the first in the series ("The Way of Shadows").

It was so damn good. Couldn't put it down, and finished all 600+ pages on the flight back. Got home, bought the other two, read "Shadow's Edge" on the way to Japan, read most of "Beyond the Shadows" on the way back (fell asleep because I was so damn tired). (Not done yet, so please don't spoil the ending if you post.)

I was worried that after the first book, they were going to become over-the-top and cheesy. Actually I was worried about that all along. But nope, I thought they were damn good all along. Best fantasy I've read in a long, long time- and this is from a guy who couldn't get into A Game of Thrones, and I really didn't like Stephen Brust.

Thanks.

1. No preference. Both are equally delicious, if a little hairy.

2. The Gothic Line... Canadian troops during the battle for the Gothic Line in Italy, World War 2

3. Exelar Humboldt, part celestial with glowing blue eyes, a knowledge of infernal because the swears are cool, and a busload of charm and wit. He died somewhat stupidly if heroically, and was reincarnated as Exelar Reviso, pledged to cleaning up a ledger full of baddies. A rogue, scamp, and the funnest character I ever played.
