I've fallen in love all over again with my first rpg crush ' Dragon Warriors' - ( now being published by Magnum Opus Press).
Now that there are a few books out and it seems to be building up enough steam to make its long overdue impression on US gamers I was wondering what your impressions were? Not just of the Core, but the Bestiary, Sleeping Gods, the Elven Crystals etc.

Any adventure stories, campaign news and the like?

Huh, that game looks like it could be an interesting thing.

As for campaign news and the like I would suggest you read some of the other sections.

I sent a note to Jimmy to see if we can get some campaign notes posted publicly now that the campaign is over. It was in a private section while it was run, so we could all talk about it.

There is a large about of stuff in the Twylos section, as well as the Guild Journal, and hidden a few other places around.

Loved the setting but disliked the idea that there were lots of different dice type rolls for different tests.

I've heard good things about Dragon Warriors, but don't own a copy. It's usually the system rather than the setting that sells me, however. I'm going to make it a point to get a copy of DW and have a look.

I'm just the opposite. Look how that worked out. Swill, when I'm there in a few weeks, maybe we can go in on it together. I'd be interested in checking out their environment.

At first I thought 'Dragon Warriors' was my own personal favorite classic RPG- 'DragonQuest'. A brutal little game from SPI with- what was in my kid's brain- the best magic system of all time.

Whatever hand I had in the four magic schools Wayfarers has, is inspired most directly by DragonQuest. It only in the end looked something like 1st edition cleric/druid/magic-user/illusionist. It was more an attempt to get at the 'College of Named Invocations' and the 'College of Greater Summoning'. Twisted, twisted stuff.

You can be a Knight or a Barbarian. No 'ordinary' fighter type is a big no no for me.

What a setting though, very good.

You know, I like Dragon Warriors a lot. I've made some nifty sheets for it...

Still... there's something about it that doesn't appeal to me as strongly as Wayfarers. I think it's that Wayfarers has so much potential for characters as opposed to the linear progression of characters for Dragon Warriors.

Don't get me wrong, Dragon Warriors' simplicity is a tremendous advantage for when I want that, but Wayfarers sits at the top of my list for RPGs.

I think there's potential for running Dragon Warriors with the Wayfarers ruleset.

Were I to do such a thing I'd houserule some additional grittiness (damage and armour absorption aren't rolled - they're set at their maximum values) and leave it at that.
