First of all, I would like to offer my best wishes for the coming year to everyone of you fellow gamers as well as your families and friends. Very Happy

On the gaming front, any plans or resolutions now that we have survived the most unspectacular end of the world ever? Wink

For my part, I'll be starting a new Wayfarers campaign in the next few weeks.

For the occasion, I'll be inaugurating a wireless data projector setup which will be used to display maps directly on a dry-erase whiteboard over my table (much like this one). Quite an investment but it should be worth it. Cool

As for Wayfarers, Jimmy, should we expect an updated GM screen or a revision of the Characters supplement this year? Maybe some new adventures or perhaps issues of the WGJ?

Sorry so slow to get back to you.

I should have a new and improved TANC by the end of the week.

A revised characters and a new module are definite goals for 2013.

Tell us about these sessions!

BTW, I'm not dead!

Just stopping by to report that our first game session was a success and that my new projector setup worked as well as I've hoped. Next time, I'll try to remember to take a few pictures.

This session also made me realize one of the reasons why I like Wayfarers so much. It offers just enough crunch and customizability to satisfy experienced gamers with rules that are easy to grasp even for newcomers.

It was one of my players' first tabletop RPG experience and, based on the enthusiasm he displayed during the session, I'm sure that he is now hooked. Cool

Great to hear it, Meta.

What did they fight (if anything?) Did anyone die?

BTW, I just sent you a preview of the new TANC module.

Jimmy, thanks again for the file! Very Happy

Yes, they were involved in a couple of fights with goblins, one of them a wolf-rider. Granted, they do not make for the most original foes to start a campaign but the players described a recent encounter with goblins in their character backstories. Since, it was one of the players' first RPG experience and they were all new to Wayfarers, I've decided to get the game rolling with a classic so that they would be in familiar territory.

I had the goblin raiders retaliate by burning one of the characters' family farm, slay his father, and abduct his mother for some sinister scheme which they have yet to uncover. Twisted Evil No one died but one of the players fell unconscious from a nasty critical hit. So far, they have managed to track down the goblin raiders to their hideout in the ruins of an ancient temple. Along the way, they met a few NPCs, a fey queen, and a shedu to which the PCs have successfully answered a riddle.

Overall, I was impressed with how the players dealt with everything.

Good times... Cool
