From what I understand, a mixture of fitting the game in their schedule, not liking the pace of an online game, and preferring systems in which PCs are more like superheroes than heroes.
To be honest, I'm also having second thoughts on running a mega-dungeon campaign online. It might lack the necessary focus to keep players involved and I'm kind of tired of having to recruit new players every few sessions. I'm thinking of running shorter modules instead.
I've also come to the conclusion that I prefer text chat over voice chat. To be fair, I feel that I'm not speaking English fluently enough to insure an appropriate level of immersion as a GM.
I'll try to get a party together to explore the Blacktooth Ridge region North of Stonehell. You are more than welcome to jump in if you are interested. In which case, you could either keep your current character or create a new one.
If you are not interested in the proposed changes, now would be a good time to drop out. There won't be any hard feelings should you choose not to stick around.
Thanks for your participation in this learning process.

How about some kind of compromise such as discussing rules, strategy, and out-of-character stuff with Skype while sticking with chat for in-character stuff?
We've thought about this once but have yet to try it out.
I think it would help move the game almost as quick and potentially be more immersive.

Ok, let's stick with all-Skype. I guess I'll get better with practice...
I've got some material ready to "start over". I'm hoping that a campaign of shorter more focused and diverse adventure modules will keep players interested for the long run.
I'll start recruiting some new players. That may take a couple of weeks. How many players do you think is optimal? I'm hesitating between 4 and 6.
Obviously, fewer players makes for faster play and games are easier to schedule but they are also more challenging and more likely to be cancelled if people don't show up. _________________ My campaign's rules

I think 5 was kind've our sweet spot. We just did run a session with four characters though, which was different but not unbelievably difficult. |
