By all means, use this thread to list just the wackiest treasures you can possibly come up with (complete with Wayfarers game stats OR not... optional).

I'll start off, but I'd rather someone else stat out this bizarre creation for me...just so I can see what you guys come up with for it (that and I'm lazy and it's dinner time):

The Apostolic Kick-plate of Unholy Love.

Ok, I'll bite.

Flightstones: These stones, ranging in size from a pebble to a large boulder, have the mass of granite, but fall up into the sky. The origins of flightstones are unclear. They may be created by enchantment; however it is rumored that natural veins of flightstone exist in the deepest levels of Thenzor Deep. These stones may be used to weight objects to a ceiling, or to lighten a load by being incorporated into a box. Some resourceful individuals have sewn flightstones into harnesses to facilitating acrobatics and climbing. Of course, most flightstones share the same eventual fate, and are lost to the sky.

The 1st ed DM's Guide Artifacts and Relics were always some of the best out there. Baba Yaga's Hut? The Machine of Lund the Mad? Greyhawk and Blackmoor, and the Judges Guild Wilderlands of High Fantasy were brilliant because there were few limits or genre stereotyping in those days...

The Potion Machine, er, Essence Distiller in Ixondr's Palace was a crowd favorite from the original Twylos campaigns. One of my players basically just gave up on the adventure and spent most of her time putting random crap in there to find out what it would do. But that's all published now, i.e., boring.

So here's something else, stolen from long ago, memory triggered by Swill's thing. And I love Flightstones, nice.

Hill Stones: Geomantic devices used for Ritual Magic landscaping. Usually appearing as ruddy-coloured pebbles, grouped together in sets of 1-4 within a large oiled ivy leaf. After being tossed in the air, the hill stone gradually increases in size, and turns into a small hill (5m x 5m x 3m) when it lands on the ground. Any creatures caught under the hill stone take 6d6 damage (Physical Resistance check of 12 for half damage). Rarer, more potent versions of these devices, known as Mountain Stones, are also rumored to exist.
