I want to know. What do you like when it comes to generating character attributes?

I actually like the option of both methods.
Some players like the idea of all the characters being on the same wavelength.
Others like the more "realistic" wildly ranging values that random rolls offer.
Others still may like a combination of the two (as offered in the core) to round out the steepness of the curve.
EDIT: Me? I like spelling "like" correctly. _________________ Check out my creations for various games at my RPG Sanctuary.

The teenage me would say roll with modification - but the current me says roll them bones. There's a cosmic itch that gets scratched when you go straight up random. _________________ Righteous InDagnation |

Personally, I prefer the roll and assign method. You roll the dice so you get one score per stat, then you assign these as you wish. I'm going to address attribute generation in WGJ3, and the following method will be included:
Roll 2d6 + 4 five times, and assign them to the 5 attributes as you wish. Here's 16 randomly generated characters using this method:
6 11 10 9 6
12 8 8 9 11
13 10 10 10 11
11 13 9 12 11
9 10 11 9 10
11 14 7 12 14
6 11 12 9 9
10 11 7 8 13
13 15 10 14 12
11 10 14 11 11
13 11 13 8 12
7 11 10 14 9
13 15 9 15 11
11 10 9 12 11
7 8 10 14 6
11 11 14 12 14
Anyone else have an alternate method to generate attribute scores for Wayfarers? _________________ Take a page out of the Unicorn Bible and dance all night by the Light of the Dragon's flame. -Champions of Breakfast |
